NORTH SEA – SOUTH SEAS
Soon after launching in 2008, the Centre for Pacific Studies initiated a collaboration with the Bergen Pacific Studies Research Group in Norway. With easy flight connections via Aberdeen, we held the first annual North Sea-South Seas workshop in 2008 and alternated between hosting in St Andrews and visiting Bergen in a series of seven workshops until 2015. These North Sea-South Seas workshops ensured productive links between our two research centres and were especially helpful for fostering research synergies between our graduate students.
